Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother

Suzanne M. Sullivan, 81, of Nutley, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born in Newark, NJ, Suzanne was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Faraday) Lamb, grew up in Montclair and North Arlington, and lived in Nutley for over 50 years. She worked as a medical records secretary at Montclair Community Hospital.

The beloved wife of the late John R. Sullivan, Suzanne is survived by her children John Sullivan Jr., (Michele Torchia), Timothy Sullivan (Alice Portee), and Kelly Englich (husband Nicky), along with her two beautiful grandchildren Emily and Kevin, sister Linda Petrocco, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A big lover of music, Suzanne enjoyed growing up with the birth of rock and roll. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and new all his songs by heart. Suzanne loved to sing and even performed in her church choir. But what is music without some dancing too. Sue and her husband John could be found many evenings at the Harp & Bard dancing and singing the night away.

However, Sue's main focus was her family. She loved being a Mom. Always involved with her kids, from assisting with homework and last minute reports that the kids needed help finishing, to sports, dance, and other extra curricular activities, somehow managing to get each kid to practice on time, and always ready as the backup driver in case someone else's Mom had to bail. Most importantly, as her kids got older, Sue was the emotional support and trusted advisor when life got challenging for everyone in her clan.

In her later years, Suzanne was so happy to become a Grandmother. Watching and caring for her grandkids was the joy of her life. Sleepovers at Grandma's was something to be excited about and looked forward to. Plus, Grandma could always be counted on for babysitting at anytime, for any reason. Grandma was the best!

The family will always remember the great vacations down at the Jersey Shore. Sue was happiest when all her kids, grandkids, and extended family were together creating memories that would last a lifetime. We miss you already Suzanne Sullivan, but you will live in our hearts forever!!
