Svetozar "Mike" Petrovich, age 83, of Chicago, passed away Sunday evening, May 12, 2024. Born January 27, 1941 in Beograd, Serbia to the late Borislav and the late Milena Petrovich, the family arrived in Chicago in 1956. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master's Degree in Engineering in 1967. During that time, he was a two sport athlete playing on the University's soccer and tennis teams. He had many talents. He enjoyed painting, playing chess and listening to classical music. Later in life, he spent his time writing on engineering principles and playing with his grandchildren, Darius, Luka and Lillian. He was the loving husband of Ljiljana; loving father of Tamara and Bojan (Jamie); dear brother of the late Slobodan. Svetozar was also a long-time member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave., Chicago, with Pomen (Wake Service) 7 p.m. Opelo (Funeral Service) Private.
