Sybil J. Schroeder, 80, of Dubuque passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Holy Spirit parish, Sacred Heart Church, with Fr. Steve Garner officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 23, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm with a parish wake service at 3:45 pm, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd. Burial will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Sybil was born on May 4, 1944 in Artesia, California, the daughter of Robert and Janell (Boles) McLaughlin. She was united in marriage to Stanley Schroeder, the love of her life, on September 5th, 1970 at the Chapel of the Space Age, Point Mugu, California. Together they raised three boys, Richard, David, and Jeffery.
Sybil worked for years as a Realtor in the Dubuque community creating many meaningful friendships along the way. She cherished her time volunteering at Stonehill Health Center where she spent time with residents painting their nails and helping them to feel beautiful.
She is survived by her Husband, Stanley Schroeder, sons; Richard (Sharon), David (Sharon), and Jeffery (Wandy), Grandchildren; Lindsey (Brett) Morris, Katherin (Zach) Fishwild, Brock Schroeder, Elizabeth Schroeder, Lauren (TC) Gilson, MaryBeth Schroeder, Rylee Schroeder, Great-grandchildren; Gemma Fishwild, Ezra Fishwild, Devin Pettaway, Elle Gilson, Charles Gilson, Joel Schroeder, Everhett Morris, Cosette Morris, Sisters; Glenna Reynolds, Robin (Jack) Nims, Brother, David McLaughlin, Sister-in-law Kathleen Schroeder.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, Grandson, Mark Schroeder, and a sister Doris Jones.
Memorials may be made to the family of Sybil Schroeder.
