Sylvester Alphonse "Bud" Schwartze, 86, of Argyle, was born September 26, 1938, a son of August Henry and Agnes J. (Stratman) Schwartze, and passed from this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Capitol Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, surrounded by his loving family. He was united in marriage on May 10, 1975, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, St. Thomas, to the former Ms. JoAnn Cecilia Heckman, and to this union two sons were born. Bud was a lifelong farmer, raising hogs and cattle in his earlier years and then just cattle. He was a member of the St. Aloysisus Catholic Church, Argyle, a Third Degree Knight with the Knight of Columbus Council 2047, Argyle, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 2693, Jefferson City. Bud enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, St. Louis Cardinal Baseball, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, and bowling, but he especially loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Those left to mourn the passing of Bud include: his loving wife of 50 years, JoAnn of the home in Argyle; his two sons, Eric Schwartze and wife, Sherri of Jefferson City, and Craig Schwartze and significant other Erin Moore of Argyle; 3 grandchildren, Macey Rackers, Kenley Schwartze, and Mick Schwartze; special friend, Clara, four brothers, Charles Schwartze and wife, Gert of Jefferson City, Norbert Schwartze and wife, Marilyn of St. James, Robert Schwartze and wife, Lynne of Columbia, and David Schwartze and wife Donna of Argyle; five sisters, Olivia Borgmeyer of Sedalia, Ann Bax and husband Arnold of Vienna, Patricia Stambaugh and husband, Phil of St. James, Margaret Poettgen and husband, Joe of Freeburg, Florence McMahan and husband John of Nashville, Tennessee, and Donna Wieberg of Argyle; one sister-in-law, Joan Schwartze of Rich Fountain, and many other relatives and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, August and Agnes Schwartze; his father and mother-in-law, Herman and Josephine Heckman; one sister, Lillian Buschmann; one brother, Donald Schwartze; and two brother-in-law, Art Borgmeyer and Glen Wieberg. A Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2025, in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Argyle, with visitation following at 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, July 21, 2025, , with Father James Finder and Father Basil Tigga co-celebrating the Mass under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Argyle. Pallbearers for Bud will be Chad Schwartze, Matt Schwartze, Casey Schwartze, Tyler Schwartze, Aaron Schwartze, and Nathan Schwartze. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Wieberg, Donnie Wieberg, Philp Wieberg, and Heath Akery. Memorial contributions in memory Mr. Sylvester Alphonse "Bud" Schwartze of are suggested by his family for Masses or per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the St. Aloysius Church the day of his service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O.
