Sylvia Bintner, 87, of Pennsburg passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16th, 2022. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter J. Bintner. Born in Doylestown, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Leda (Rosenberg) Wargo.
Sylvia was never idle. She was a homemaker "extraordinaire." Everyone who knew her admired her talent for creating a warm and cozy home. She was our own Martha Stewart! She loved creating: embroidery, painting, gardening, and landscaping. She would be shown outfits in fashion magazines by her daughters, and she could then whip them up on her sewing machine.
The Christmas season was made especially magical for her children. Sylvia spent weeks creating and baking the world's most complete collection of Christmas cookies. Hands down! She would carefully save up all year long so that her children would have piles of gifts on Christmas morning. Truly magical! These are the warmest memories her children have of her as a Mother.
Sylvia was always a "manners" stickler. She also insisted that her children use proper English and was persistent about it. There would be no slang in her house!
In 2016 Sylvia returned to Pennsylvania after her various adventures in Florida and Missouri and rented an apartment from her sons. She was 81. She was comforted with their presence as she aged, and they felt blessed and privileged to have her close in her final years.
And last but not least everyone who knew Sylvia knew of her two passions after her family: her love of dogs and of the Philadelphia Eagles. With everyone else she was excited about this winning season.
Sylvia is survived by her brother Stephen Wargo and his wife Patty. She had five children: Claudia, wife of Kevin Stokes, Walter Bintner, Cheryl Bintner Dalgetty, David Bintner, and Shannon Bintner Cheers. She had nine grandchildren: Adrian Dalgetty Bone and husband Sky, Nathan Dalgetty, Dr. Phillip Stokes and his wife Brittany, David Bintner Jr. and his fiancée Danielle, Hannah Stokes, Elizabeth Dalgetty, Kimberly Bintner, Nicholas Bintner, and Dominick Cheers. She had twelve great grandchildren: Preston, Reese, Jaden, Sophia, Bella, Christopher, Lynn, Savannah, Joey, Quinton, Emery, and Liam. She had a host of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Shannon who passed in 2005, and her grandchildren Hannah Stokes who passed in 1989, and Nathan Dalgetty who passed in 2010.
All are invited to a viewing at 10 am with the service at 11 am on Tuesday, December 20, at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St., Pennsburg, PA 18073. Following her service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband Walter J. Bintner at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pennsburg.
