Sylvia Evans Obituary
Sylvia was born on July 16, 1940, in Washington D.C., to the late Alvin Jerome and Thelma Louis (Adams). She was a devoted and loving wife to the late Kenneth Barry and the late Carl Evans. Sylvia was also a cherished mother to Michael (Denise) Barry, Mark (Kathy) Barry, and Carl Evans Jr.
A dedicated secretary by profession, Sylvia's commitment to her work was only overshadowed by her devotion to her family. She was a proud grandmother to Kenneth, Brandon, Bradley (Victoria), Alex, Lauren, Dan (Kristy), Danyelle (Patrick), Ken and Kate and a delighted great-grandmother to Bennet, Aspen, Aria and Faith.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by the late Terry Millen, whom she held dear in her heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Columbus Baptist Church, 1258 Palms, Columbus, MI 48063 (at Gratiot and Palms Rd.). There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Those who wish to honor Sylvia's memory with a floral tribute are kindly asked to have arrangements delivered to the Columbus Baptist Church.
Sylvia will be remembered for her grace, generosity, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
