RICHMOND, Ind. – Sylvia Mae Allen, age 48, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, September 27, 2021, at Reid Health.
Born November 28, 1972, in Richmond, Indiana, to Jesse and Dorcas Smith White, Sylvia was a life-long resident of this community. She enjoyed watching Cincinnati Reds baseball and the Washington Football Team. Sylvia also enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Gene Allen, to whom she was married on January 19, 1996; daughters, Ashley Allen and Christabella Santeigo Ortiz, both of Richmond; sons, Larry Allen Jr. and Jesse Allen, both of Richmond; mother, Dorcas White of Richmond; sister, Jessica (William) Knight of Brownsville, Indiana; brother, Burton White of Richmond; grandmother, Margaret Smith; niece, Dani White; and nephews, Nathan and Skyler White.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jonathon Bradley Allen who died on July 10, 2021, and Brian White who died on March 18, 1996; father, Jesse White; grandfather, Emery Smith; and niece, Erica Allen.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Sylvia Mae Allen at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the shelter at Springwood Park, 60 Waterfall Road, Richmond. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, Wayne County Unit, 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
