Sylvia E. Mountain, age 84, died February 20, 2025 in United Memorial Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born October 17, 1940 in Middleport to Edward and Marion (Steiner) Schlinger and had lived in this area all of her life.

Sylvia was a member of the Middleport United Methodist Church, enjoyed playing the keyboards and liked doing crafts. She loved gardening and flowers and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Sylvia will be remembered as one of the most appreciative person for everything and to everyone.

She is survived by her son: Ted (Aylin Tunay) Mountain of Pittsford, her daughter: Jill (David) Baker of Lyndhurst, NJ, her brothers: David (Lorrilyn) Schlinger of Ontario, NY, Ed (Linn) Schlinger of VA, her sisters: Mary Hanner of AZ, Ann (Steve Hiller) Carpenter of FL, her grandchildren: Elyssa and Eric as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Services and interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: The Erie Canalway Heritage Fund at: www.eriecanalway.org
