PAGELAND, S.C. - Sylvia Knight Rogers passed away peacefully on Feb. 7, 2026, with her family by her side.
She was born on Jan. 4, 1939, to the late Woodrow Wilson Knight and Edith Lee Watts Knight. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John "Buck" Knight, Bobbie Knight Rivers, Charles Knight, Billy Knight, and Nancy Knight Carelock.
Her life was enriched by her marriages to her high school sweetheart and first husband, Millon S. Deason, and her second husband, Richard S. Rogers, who both predeceased her.
She is survived by her adoring daughters, Lynn Deason Rhoney of Drexel, N.C., and Lane Deason Wallace (Jeffrey) of Pageland, S.C.; her loving grandchildren, Meghan R. Scism (Cameron) of Morganton, N.C., Corey S. Rhoney (Lynli) of
Johnson City, TN, Catelyn M. Cook of Pageland, S.C., and Caroline E. Cook of Charlotte, N.C.; her great-grandchildren, Kingsley Jo Rhoney, Hudson K. Scism, Callahan B. Rhoney, and Kadin F. Scism, who will grow up hearing stories of her warmth and wisdom; and a host of nieces and nephews who lovingly called her, "Aunt Sib."
Until she moved from Pageland, she was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she lifted her voice in song as part of the choir, sharing her love for music and worship. Her commitment to her faith was evident in the way she lived her life, always putting others before herself.
In her younger days, Sylvia was an avid reader, often found with a book in her hand. She had a particular fondness for the color pink, which reflected her gentle and loving nature. Sylvia's green thumb was legendary; her garden was a testament to her patience and care. She was also a culinary artist, cooking meals that not only nourished the body but also comforted the soul.
For over 33 years, Sylvia was a dedicated hairdresser in Charlotte, N.C., where she touched the lives of many with her listening ear and caring hands. She was the go-to person for advice, a caregiver at heart, and a friend to all who knew her.
