Sylvia Chasteen Rutledge
Williamston
Sylvia Chasteen Rutledge, 89, of Williamston, died Thursday May 29, 2025, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Viola Cheek Chasteen. She served as a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol. She worked many years as a Nurses Aid and Heart Monitor Technician. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving her are Sons; Randy (Carol) Rutledge of Belton, Terry (Dale) Rutledge of Williamston, and Kenneth (Cindy) Rutledge of Belton. Daughters; Anita (Bill) McCurry of Abbeville and Denise Rutledge of Jackson GA. 8 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-great Grandchild.
She is preceded in death by brother, Ralph Chasteen; sisters, Ella Mae Timms, Estelle Connelly, Juanita Butler and Faye Mull.
Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM at the funeral home.
Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital in her name.
The family will be at the home of Randy and Carol Rutledge 1424 Henry Thomas Rd Belton.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
