Sylvia Stutes, 88 of Duncan Falls passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024 at Genesis Hospital.
Sylvia was born in Newark on November 4, 1936. She is the daughter of Philip Joseph Celnar and Bessie Frances (Sutherland) Celnar.
Sylvia was a member of the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, deeply committed to her faith and her family. She found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her. A loving wife and dedicated mother, Sylvia always put her family's well-being first. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found comfort and guidance in reading her Bible daily. She also enjoyed watching soap operas.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Tim and Teresa Stutes, Susan Yurich, Kim and Bill Smith, Scot and Robin Stutes, and Jana and Don Bell; her grandchildren, Jason and Sadie Stutes, Jared and Kellie Stutes, Jeremey and Kindra Stutes, Cory Stutes, Christopher (Channimol Kea) Stutes, Billy and Sarah Smith, Ashlee and Richard Perry, Abbee and Josh Whiteman, Jenny and Ethan Heiney, Lindsay and Clint Mohler, Matthew Beebe, Cody and Justine Bell, Cady and Matt Howard; several great grandchildren; her brother, Jim and Frances Celnar.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Blaine M. Stutes who passed away January 28, 2011; an infant great granddaughter, Soma Anna Stutes; and an infant grandson, Stephen George Beebe Jr.
Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be held 1 pm following visitations. Pastor Jamie Harrop will officiate the service. Sylvia will be laid to rest in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
