S. Darlene Williams, age 86, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with her family by her side.
Darlene was born April 4, 1939, in Lima, OH, to the late H.C. Grooms and Edna (Deck) Parr. On November 15, 1975, she married Jack H. Williams, who preceded her in death on January 19, 1997.
Darlene attended Waynesfield-Goshen High School. She worked at Artex, Norm's Place, and Mama Rosa's Pizza. Darlene was an avid gardener, enjoyed line dancing, and talking with her best friend, JoAnn. She was especially proud of her family and loved spending time with her son, granddaughter, and great-grandson.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Diane Hines) Williams of Lima; granddaughter, Ashley Williams of Lima; great-grandson, Greyson Foust; cousins, Rick (Cindy) Hastings, Deborah (Dennis) Hastings Hawkey, Kelly (Laura) Hastings, Ronda Hastings; and her best friend, JoAnn Sheets.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Williams, and stepdad, Richard Parr.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Lori Wright will officiate the service. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the funeral home and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1st, before the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deb's Dogs, 1560 Wonderlick Road, Lima, OH 45805.
