Mother Synovia Brown Johnson, a native of Lower Preach

Tree, AL and a lifelong resident of Prichard, AL was born

February 14, 1926 to Robert and Winnie Brown. Mother Johnson

transitioned from life to her heavenly home on Wednesday,

January 21, 2026 surrounded by her family singing unto the glory

of God.

henceforth is laid up for her a crown of righteousness, which the

Lord our God shall give on that day!

Mother Johnson received the Precious Gift of the Holy Ghost

under the leadership of Bishop E.D. Davis. She worked untimely

in The Church of God Pentecostal in many capacities... President

of Hospitality, sang in the choir, etc. Mother Johnson later became

a Mother of the Church under the leadership of Bishop George E.

Moore and one of the oldest Mothers in the Organization.

Mother Johnson was a Licensed Beautician for many years. She

loved her family and would always give her last if necessary.

Mother Johnson was a mother and a caregiver to us all. She loved

flowers, beautiful hats, pets, clothes and shoes her favorite color

was red and she loved to travel. She was a woman of great faith

and would always tell you that she is in God Hands.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Winnie

Brown; a beloved husband of over seventy years, Ranus Johnson;

brothers: Johnny Knight Brown, Irby Brown and Willie James

Brown; a sister, Lucy Inez Lane; and two bonus sons: Ranus

Brown and Robert Baker.

Mother Synovia Brown Johnson leaves to cherish her legacy and

precious memories to a devoted bonus daughter, Dianne Johnson

of Mobile, AL; a brother, Robert (Geraldine) Brown of Detroit MI;

sisters: Magnolia Sumrall, Maggie Moore of Mobile, AL, Alice

(Robert) Hill of Livonia, MI and Virginia Johnson of Troy, MI;

and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends;

devoted love ones: Sandra Thompson and Otha Ruth Travis;

goddaughter Bonita; and a devoted caretaker, Lewis
