Tami Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raymond Funeral Service PA - La Plata on Jan. 8, 2026.
Heaven gained an angel on December 19th, 2025, when the Lord called our beloved Tami Lea Smith home. A wife, mother, and friend to many Tami was a lifelong resident of La Plata, Maryland. Born in Washington D.C. November 1, 1969, to Paul (Reedless) and Thelma Smith. Tami was a 1987 graduate of La Plata High School and a 1991 graduate of the College of Southern Maryland. She finished her studies at Western Governors University, earning her B.S.N. in 2018.

A selfless, devoted, and gifted nurse, she worked 35 years serving the needs of Southern Maryland's infirmed patients. Tami's radiant smile and generous spirit touched everyone she met. Her love of painting, swimming, and her beloved pets is surpassed only by the love and devotion to her family and daughter Hailey. An avid motorcyclist, she participated in numerous biker charity rides to benefit worthy causes. Tami found great joy in her many wonderful friendships, helping each in her own special way feel loved and cherished.

She is survived and missed by her husband, Michael; her beloved daughter Hailey; sister, Geri (Danny); Aunts, Ann, Maurine, Christine (Jennings), and Debra (J.R.); Uncles, Denny and Maurice; Nephews Bobby and Scotty; Niece, Brittany; Cousins, Brenda, Keith, Shane, Kurt, Kenny, Roger, Jason, Matthew, and Wendy. As well as many more beloved family members and friends.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Welcome on January 10th, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Charles County. Forever in our hearts, she will always be.
