Tammie Jo Welch
June 2, 1967 – July 8, 2025
Tammie Jo Welch, born Tammie Jo Tipton on June 2, 1967, passed peacefully from this life on July 8, 2025. She was a beacon of kindness, a loving mother, and a cherished friend whose heart knew no limits. Known for her ever-present compassion and her unrelenting desire to help others, Tammie was often called the "heart and soul" by those blessed to know her-an angel on earth.
Tammie's greatest joy in life was her love for children. Affectionately known as "GiGi" to many, she embraced this role with overflowing love and devotion, nurturing and guiding not only her family but countless others who found comfort in her presence.
She was the proud mother of her youngest surviving daughter, Emma G. Welch, and her beloved son, Army Ranger Staff Sergeant Sean S. Cook, born in 1987, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2010.
Tammie was also preceded in death by her beloved mother, Gwendolyn Guilfoil, who passed in 2010. She leaves no other living relatives.
Throughout her life, Tammie faced many medical challenges, beginning after the birth of her son. Yet, through every trial, she remained a symbol of strength, humor, and unwavering grace.
She was surrounded by love at the very end, with her devoted brother, John Andrew Guilfoil, by her side, along with a circle of friends who adored her and cared for her as she took her final breath.
Her legacy of love, generosity, and fierce loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at her home:
117 Christopher Drive, Nicholasville, KY 40356.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made toward the continued care of her daughter, Emma, as she moves forward after the heartbreaking loss of her only parent.
Donations may be sent to:
Cash App: John Andrew Guilfoil - $AndrewGuilfoil
All contributions made in her memory will continue Tammie's spirit of love and care for others.
Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
