Tammy Lynn Lehmberg (Gates) of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the young age of 57. Tammy was born on July 26, 1966, to Dell and Ronnie Gates in McAlester, Oklahoma. She graduated from Choctaw High School class of 1985 and went on to work at Tinker Air Force Base. It was there when her car broke down in the parking lot, that she would find her true love. Her future husband, Lindy, came to save the day not knowing that his small act of kindness would change their whole lives.
Tammy and Lindy got married on January 23, 1988, in Oklahoma City. They wanted to start a family and build a life together. Tammy experienced tragedy along the way, including the loss of her first two daughters, Heather and Khayle. Through the heartbreak, Tammy, and Lindy continued bravely ahead with faith and determination. Hillarie was born in October 1991; Tammy got her healthy baby girl. From that day on, Tammy knew that her main focus was to be a mom, and that was a role she never took for granted. She was the epitome of an amazing mother. As she battled illnesses throughout the years, Tammy always made it a point to make it home for the holidays, birthdays, and special events; even if that meant having to go back to the hospital to be re-admitted the next day. She was the ultimate homeroom mom, proud wife, and loudest volleyball fan you'd hear in the bleachers when Hillarie was playing.
And just when Tammy thought her title of "Mom" was the best, she got to be an "Oma" to 4 wonderful grandkids. All four of her grandchildren, Autumn, Tank, Quentin, and Lucien, made her heart whole. She loved to spoil them rotten with anything and everything they could ever want. Ice cream for breakfast? Sure; why not?! "Paper money" to go buy a toy at the store just because? Absolutely! There were no rules when it came to Oma and her grandbabies. In her eyes, the world revolved around them, and no one could have told her any different.
As a personal passion project, Tammy enjoyed crafting. Initially starting with crochet and embroidery, she later picked up sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Mid-Del Stichin' Sisters guild and found joy in getting together weekly to work on projects. She made countless handmade gifts over the years for loved ones including baby blankets and bereavement quilts. She felt honored to be able to make quilts for Veterans in their last days.
Tammy was a strong, resilient person her entire life, and now, she can finally rest easy. Tammy is preceded in death by her daughters: Heather and Khayle Lehmberg, parents: Dell Gates (Pullin) and Ronnie Gates, and grandparents: Billie Mullins (Gates) and Dan Gates. Tammy is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years: Lindy Lehmberg, her daughter and son-in-law: Hillarie Galloway (Lehmberg) and Jerry Wren Galloway, grandchildren: Autumn Galloway, Jerry Wryland Galloway, Jerry Quentin Galloway, and Jerry Lucien Galloway, cousins/bonus daughters: Lacey Stricklin and Amber Leslie, and brother including his significant other: Dean Gates and Susan Doyals. Tammy also shared her life with numerous other family and friends whom she loved tremendously.

Sweet Tammy...I met you at Hillarie´s shower. We instantly connected having only daughters and being so protective of them. Your love for your daughter and me with mine we instantly bonded. You have an amazing circle of loved ones around you. And those grandkids were the medicine and amazing noise ...and made any bad day go away. I admit I´m super sad to hear you are gone. You will be so dearly missed, but Hillarie reminded me two other baby sisters need your love and time. That makes the pain and sadness less. You hold each baby in each arm, and show them off to me when I join you.
