Tammy Jean Rood

Tammy Jean Rood (Westmoreland), 62, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away on 07/04/2023, at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL with all of her children by her side until her very last breath. She was born to parents James Calvin Westmoreland Sr. and Martha Jean Rumley, on 03/16/1961, in Bethesda, MD. Tammy was raised in Virginia Beach, VA where she spent a majority of her life and never stopped calling it "home". In 2018, she moved to Spring Hill, FL to be closer to her children, the place where her heart was.
Her entire life she enjoyed crafting, flowers, photography, music, her native american heritage, beaches and beautiful sunsets but most of all - the love and joy it gave her to raise her children. She leaves to cherish her memory her children; Joshua Morris and partner Shawn Sass of Spring Hill, FL; Jeremy Evans of LA; Jessica Grassl and partner Gerald Baker of Spring Hill, FL; Savannah Rood of Tampa, FL; Cheyenne Rood of Spring Hill, FL; bonus Daughter Samantha Rood of Lubbock, TX. In addition to her children, she adored her Grandchildren with a fierce passion, Alyjah & Christiana Evans, Aemari and Aryah Baker, Lei'lani & El'Ce Rood. She is also survived by her Nephews - Kareem, Donnie, Dian Dimele and David Metcalf Jr. whom she was incredibly proud to meet and love later in her life. Survived by her former spouse, Father to Savannah and Cheyenne and long-time friend, David Rood of Olongapo, Philippines.
Tammy is predeceased by both Parents J.C. and Martha, Sisters - Linda Jo Dimele and Robin Gail Copenhaver, Brother – James 'Calvin' Westmoreland Jr. and Nephew - Jeremy Westmoreland. Also, her chosen life Sisters, Rose Taylor and Donna Hartmanstorfer. We know in our hearts that she was met with open arms to a family that she missed so dearly in the time that they were separated.
Our Mother was a loving friend to many, she made connections just about anywhere she would go. Over her lifetime, she added many to our circle of chosen family. Her love and passion for humanity far exceeded anyone we've ever known. Anywhere she went, she was unforgettable and left a mark on anyone that she talked to.
