Tammy (Damanti) Springer, 60, of Medina, passed away May 6, 2022, with her family at her side. She was born on June 24, 1961, to the late Anthony J. and Patricia E. (Suerman) Damanti, in Sandusky, Ohio.
Tammy grew up in Sandusky and graduated from Perkins High School in 1979 before moving to the Chicagoland area where she opened a diner-style pizzeria called Checkers with her family. She was then called back home to Ohio where she lived in Medina for the last 18 years working for the county and being an active member of Medina Community Church as well as the community. It was at Medina Community Church where she met a handsome bass player named Greg whom she would later wed and spend the rest of her life traveling and sitting on the beach.
She was always up for a trip back to Sandusky for a perch sandwich, to visit family, or to sit by the water with some Tofts. Tammy also loved Cedar Point, a love that she has passed on to her kids and grandkids. But above all, she loved spending time with her friends and family as much as she could.
Tammy will be remembered as kind-hearted, loving, caring, and welcoming to anyone and everyone who had the privilege to meet her.
She leaves behind her loving & attentive husband & best friend, Greg; her greatest treasures, her children, Kelly (Paul) Ruthsatz-De La Roca, Cory (Kaitlin) Ruthsatz, and Kegan (Mallory) Ruthsatz, & a bonus treasure child, Bryan Springer; her precious grandchildren, Maxyne, Elsa, Roman, Alexander, Leopold, and Linus; her in-laws, Ellie & Bill Davies; her brothers, Thomas (Susan) Damanti, Mark Damanti; sisters, Terry (Shannon) Harvey, and Mindy (Michael) Nutter; sister and brothers-in-law, Missy & Erich; former husband Brian Ruthsatz and former in-laws, Edward & Brenda Ruthsatz.
A huge Thank You to Julie Harper and the ladies at Medina Hospital Infusion Center, and Jennifer Karohl at Main Campus Cleveland.
The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 pm Friday, May 13, 2022, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina 44156, and one hour prior to the service, from 10-11:00 am, Saturday at Medina Community Church, 416 S Broadway St, Medina, OH 44256. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the church. Pastor Doug Davidson will be officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Medina Hospital Infusion Center for snacks, c/o Medina Hospital, 1000 E. Washington St., Medina 44256 or Kitten Krazy, 930 Lafayette Rd., Medina, OH 44256, www.kittenkrazy.org/donate.
