CHARLTON: Tammy (Stearns) Mitchell, 56, of Charlton passed away Friday, March 31st after enduring a long illness. Born on November 17, 1966, Tammy was a lifelong resident of Charlton and a graduate of Shepherd Hill Regional High School.
Tammy leaves her husband Mark Mitchell; stepdaughter Danielle Price her husband, Brandon and their daughter Laken of Pittsfield; brothers Edward Stearns III and his wife Lori of Charlton; James Stearns of Southbridge; Richard Stearns and his wife Kathy of Sturbridge; nephew and nieces Edward Stearns, Kayla Buchanan, Nicole Stearns, Jordan Stearns, and Megan Stearns.
Tammy was predeceased by her beloved parents, Edward Stearns Jr. and Irene Stearns. Tammy devoted her life to the family business, Ed Stearns Dressed Meats. Eventually, taking it over with her brother after the passing of their father. She was the brains behind the scenes for all of the creations and recipes. Tammy was a true cook at heart.
Tammy was known for having a heart of gold. She always gave all she could, and refused to take anything in return. She was involved with fundraising for the Southbridge Relay for Life and various other charities. She often hosted and donated her time for fundraisers and raffles.
Tammy lived to make everyone smile. She filled so many people’s lives with love, laughter, and support. She brought so much light and love into everything she did, usually with her own flare, as she loved all things unique. She enjoyed cooking, animals, farm life, volleyball, and music, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her friends that had become part of her family. Tammy will be deeply missed by all that loved her.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, 2-5 PM, at Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, MA.
Her Funeral Service and burial will be for immediate family only.
