Tammy Marchant VanDee, age 60, of Cottondale, AL, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services and burial will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Memory Hill Gardens. Bro. Jon Reaves will be officiating.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Jo Marchant; brother, Donald Lynn Marchant; and grandparents, Ryburn and Lola Frances Marchant.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Michael Duane VanDee; daughter, Montana Smith (Josh); son, Coty VanDee (Ashley); grandchildren, Gracie Hall, Hayden Smith, Sawyer Smith, Weston VanDee, Tucker VanDee, Jace Carroll, and Skyler Carroll; brother, Brad Marchant (Sandra); honorary brother, Bryan Marchant (Vickii); father, Ronald Baxter Marchant; and a host of nieces & nephews.
Tammy was born July 12, 1964, in Tuscaloosa, AL to Ronald Baxter Marchant and the late Nellie Jo Marchant. She married the love of her life, Michael Duane VanDee on March 10, 1984. Tammy loved all holidays, Christmas being her favorite; her love, generosity and kindness was shared with others all year long. She had a huge passion for fishing and working in her garden. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Tammy enjoyed taking trips with her family, whether it be to the mountains or the beach, always ready for an adventure!
Pallbearers will be Keke Davis, Ben Willis, Josh Cobbs, Randal Smith, Davy VanDee, and Coty VanDee. Honorary pallbearers will be Amedysis Home Health and Hospice of West Alabama.
She was a proud supporter of St. Judes Children Research Hospital for 30 years; the family ask in lieu of flowers; donations be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital.
