Tanannah "Tanny" Whitt, 86, of Kimble Street, Keyser, WV, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 at his residence while under the care of WVU Medicine Hospice.
Born on August 3, 1939 in Bud, WV, he was a son of the late Audley and Agnes (Lusk) Whitt. He also was preceded in by a grandchild, Kyrstin Whitt; two brothers, Yukon and Edley Whitt and a sister, Monika Whitt.
Mr. Whitt was a retired self-employed carpenter and home builder in the area for many years and was a member of the Carpenters Union in Cumberland, MD. He attended the Mt. Zion Church on Knobley Road, Keyser.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Eleanor Jane (Hartman) Whitt; his children, Mark Whitt of Keyser, Cathy Whitt of Augusta, WV and Cheryl Powell of Florida; four grandchildren, Abby, Tasha, Brandon and Jacob and four great grandchildren, Tinley, Parker, Tanner and Bentley. Also surviving are two sisters, Odessa Donley of Phoenix, AZ and Ramoka Hall of Pulaski, VA.
At Mr. Whitt's request there will be no visitation or services.
Private inurnment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
The Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Keyser, is in charge of the arrangements.
