Tanya Evon was born on October 6, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia, joining three older siblings, Valorie, Shiela, and Derek, to the late to Alvin Earl and Eleanor Jean Davis and preceding her youngest sibling, Nicole.
Tanya attended George A Towns Elementary School and then Harper High. She transferred to Southwest High School where she earned her diploma. She enjoyed literature and logic and found a talent in typing and word processing after attending and getting certified at Atlanta Area Technical College.
In February 1989, she married Larry Donnell Green and the two welcomed a little boy, Donnell, and a little girl, Kymberli, in the subsequent years. Notably, Tanya truly enjoyed each pregnancy and was elated at the births of all her children. Darci Lachelle Green, Tanya's youngest child, was born in 1995 and passed right before her third birthday. She was a devoted wife and an exceptional mother.
After college, Tanya had a fifteen-year tenure at Southern Bell/Bellsouth (now AT&T) as a word processor. Then, wanting to be close to her children, Tanya worked as a paraprofessional at Church Street Elementary School before transitioning to administrative duties as the school's bookkeeper, from which she retired in 2017. She received the Bookkeeper of the Year Award in this position.
Tanya was born again 10/23/1983 at 12:25am, which she proudly wrote in her Bible, and was a devoted member, singer, teacher, and interim choir director at Faith Cornerstone Church since the 1980s. She loved Jesus with her whole heart and attended many services and activities through the church over the years. Tanya thoroughly enjoyed musicality and had an appreciation for music from many different genres and eras. She took every opportunity to sing with those she loved and her family would have karaoke parties and sing together. Tanya was known for her smile that lit every room and her kindness that touched everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Tanya went home to be with the Lord on the morning of December 9, 2024. She leaves behind a husband of 35 years, Larrry Donnell Green Sr.; two children, Donnell (Shondreia) and Kymberli; five grandchildren, Diamond, Jayden, Felipe, Quinten, and Noble; three siblings, Valorie, Derek, and Nicole (Alfredo); one uncle, Romie Jr.; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and legacy of love, integrity, and faith.
