Tawaski Kentez King

Funeral services for Minister Tawaski Kentez King of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2 PM at the Dublin High School Auditorium, 1127 Hillcrest Parkway in Dublin. Prophetess Greta Smith will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Tawaski King was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1991, in Dublin, Georgia, to Ms. Tamikia King and Mr. Timothy Ray.

He was a 2010 graduate of Dublin High School and a 2014 graduate of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, where he was honored for scoring 1000 points.

He was employed with the Department of Juvenile Justice until his untimely death on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Minister Tawaski was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Ola Mae King, his grandmothers, Ola Jean King White Carter and Mary Ray, and by his grandfather, Henry Lee Ray, Jr.

To know Minister Tawaski, who was also affectionately known as "T-Watt from the Barber Shop, King, Coot, and Big Scrub", was to love him. To keep his memories alive, he leaves his loving wife, Minister Takeila King, his children, Alanah King and Sydney King of East Dublin, Georgia, and Takeria "TK" Smith and Takeia Smith of Dublin, Georgia; his mother, Tamikia King, and father, Timothy Ray, both of Dublin, Georgia.

He also leaves to cherish his memories two brothers, TyDriequez Seals and T'Quavion King, and two sisters, Samariah Seals and Trinley Ray; aunts, LaTonya White, Kamelia Washington and Tiffany Stanley, and uncle, Albert (Brittany) Stanley; his mother-in-law, Prophetess Gretta Smith of Dublin, Georgia, and father-in-law, Gregory (Peggy) Smith of Augusta, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Jaroski Smith and Gregory Smith, II, both of Dublin, Georgia, two sisters-in-law, Shantia Smith of Valdosta, Georgia, and Samoria (Sam) Lampkin of Lexington, South Carolina; also cousins who were more like brothers, Malik Hazley of Orlando, Florida, and Khalil White of Dublin, Georga; and a host of nieces, including Reina Wyatt, Alana Smith, and Taylor Seals, and nephews and life-long friends including Deshante Wilburn, De'Marquis (Perkila) Johnson, and Kerry (Jenee) Blue.
