He was born on September 26, 1654, in Bristol, Tennessee to the late John and Barbara McCray.
Ted was a member of Pisgah ARP Church in Gastonia. He retired from the US Navy. Ted loved to fish and was a big Clemson Tiger fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson. He loved singing songs of worship.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Burton McCray; son, Daniel Justin McCray and wife Amanda of Dallas; brothers, David and Johnny McCray; grandson, Jace Ayven McCray.
A Memorial Service with Navy Military Honors, officiated by Pastor Rick Lewis, will be held at Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 Linwood Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052 on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital – 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 – www.stjude.org
Condolences may be made at: www.greenefuneral.com.
