Teddy Mack Weaver, 82, of Levelland passed from this life on July 10, 2023.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 17, 2023, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born June 7, 1941 in Levelland to Woodrow and June Weaver. He started his professional journey as a 5th grade teacher in Muleshoe, Texas, where he met his loving wife, Elva Louise. His helping nature and creative thinking made him a successful city manager for Slaton, Friona and then in Sweetwater where he served as Mayor. Sweetwater, Texas, became the home for Ted, Elva, and their two children.

The family owned several businesses, including Masterview Mobile Homes and Masterview Books, Bibles, and Gifts. The family later moved to Austin, Texas where Ted worked for TEA as the head of the DECA program. He also found himself employed by CBN and the Associate Pastor for Church of the Hills in Austin.

Ted always enjoyed writing short stories. Many have been published and many more have been read by generations. Years after living in Austin, Ted and Elva made the move to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ted once again taught at the Junior College level where he was known for his classroom store that shared all kinds of special treats.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Elva, Ted moved to Levelland. He became a beacon of hope and love to everyone he met, leaving a trail of gold dollars and Cracker Jacks with every friend along the way. Ted found great value in loving people and loving them well.

He invested in his family and never missed a birthday or anniversary. Ted was a devoted “Pop” to his five granddaughters. There were countless mudpies, calligraphy handwriting sessions, tea parties, and gardening adventures. He became an honorary member of Texas Tech Chi Omega sorority, where he was lovingly known as “Whits Pop.” Ted was an active “Great Pop” to his great grands, never missing a ball game or school program. He continued his influence of creativity by bringing crafts to paint and vegetables to plant with the plans of giving them away and praying for the recipients alongside his great grands.

Ted was a follower of Christ and enjoyed memorizing scripture to keep his memory sharp. We take great peace and comfort knowing Ted and Elva are once again reunited with our Lord and Savior as they were loyal servants during their time on this Earth.  He was a member of First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Weaver; and his parents, Woody and June Weaver.

Ted is survived by son, Jimmy Weaver and wife Kathleen of Abilene; daughter, Karole Byers and husband David of Denton; twin brother, Fred Weaver; little brother, Woody Weaver; granddaughters, Kristine Robinson and husband John Paul, Whitney Sales and husband Weston, Tiffany Weaver, Shelby Gard and husband Tommy, and Lyndsey Seale and husband Collin; and great grandchildren, Destiny and Ashlyn Robinson, Alee and Cooper Gard, Stedson, Sterling and Summit Mack Sales, Gwendolyn Seale and Baby Seale on the way.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you be like Ted and give to someone in need.
