Teresa Copney

Teresa Copney, born on February 1, 1969, in Wheeling, passed away on November 12, 2024, at WVU Wheeling Medical Park. She was 55 years old.
Teresa dedicated her life to caring for others as a Nurses Aide, a role in which she touched many lives with her compassion and kindness. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She cherished every moment with them, as well as with her dear family, friends, and her sister, affectionately known as "Sissy."
She is preceded in death by her father, Melvin Lynn Goff. Teresa leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts: her mother, Brenda Schweiger; her brother, Thomas Howard Hawkins III, and his wife Bridget; her sisters, Diane Marie Goff-Zavolta and Stacey Saffell-Bilnko; her daughter, Dominque Copney DeBerry; her son, Roland Copney; and her treasured grandchildren, Kane Frost, Madden DeBerry, and Layla DeBerry. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and great friends who will miss her dearly.
Services to honor Teresa's life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date and time. In this time of mourning, the family appreciates the support and prayers of all who knew and loved Teresa. Her warmth, love, and dedication to those around her will be remembered always.
