Teresa G. Gomez, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 17, 2025, at the hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on October 15, 1943, in Lima, Peru, Teresa was the cherished daughter of Jesus De La Oliva and Graciela Caceda.
Teresa dedicated much of her career as a skilled seamstress in the textile industry, working for Myron Manufacturing in Hackensack, New Jersey. Beyond her profession, she lived a life full of love, warmth, and devotion to her family.
She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Raul Gomez, and a loving mother to her children: Liliana Gómez, Angel Gomez, Sergio Gomez, Álvaro Gomez, Gonzalo Gomez, Rolando Gomez, and Mariella Deleonardis. Teresa was also blessed with many grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and cherished deeply.
In her younger years, Teresa enjoyed playing volleyball and remained active throughout her life. She had a passion for gardening, taking special care of her flowers-roses being her favorite. She found peace and joy in knitting, often creating beautiful handmade pieces for her loved ones. Music played a significant role in her life, and she especially loved the Peruvian waltz, which brought back fond memories of her homeland.
Above all, Teresa found her greatest joy in her family. She loved hosting family reunions, where her home was filled with laughter, love, and the delicious aroma of her cooking. She was a wonderful cook, known for preparing comforting meals that brought her family together around the table.
Teresa's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
For those who wish to honor Teresa's memory, the family encourages acts of kindness, love, and time spent with loved ones, as she always believed family was life's greatest blessing.
