Teresa Marie Goodman

Teresa Goodman, a beacon of selfless love and generosity, passed away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on September 1, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on April 6, 1956, in Lansing, Michigan, Teresa's infectious smile and warm presence brought joy to everyone she met throughout her 68 years of a life well-lived.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband of many years, Denny Goodman, who stood by her side in every chapter of their shared journey. She was a cherished mother to her son, Steve Burton, and his wife Moani, and to her son, Cody Burton. Teresa took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Cole, Elly, Luna, and Jesiah, whose activities and accomplishments were her greatest delights.
In addition to her immediate family, Teresa's memory will be treasured by her stepfather Vince Kuntz; her father, Elwin Benson; her siblings, Steve (Lisa) Benson, Sharon (Mel) Rademacher, and Dan (Brenda) Benson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her kindness.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Colleen Kuntz, whose spirit and love continue to guide the family.
A proud graduate of Harry Hill High School in 1974, Teresa demonstrated early on her dedication to excellence and community. Her professional life was marked by a distinguished career as a Manager for the State of Michigan's Single Business Tax Department, where her hard work, leadership, and integrity were hallmarks of her service.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Teresa was known for her passion for life and the simple pleasures it brings. She was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure in the pages of her favorite books. Golfing was not just a hobby but a way for Teresa to enjoy the beauty of nature and spend time with her family. Her love for shopping was matched by her impeccable taste and the joy she found in selecting the perfect gifts for her loved ones.
Teresa's happiest moments were often spent at the family cottage on Crystal Lake, where laughter echoed and memories were made. She was a fixture in the stands at her grandchildren's sporting events, proudly cheering on Cole's baseball team with an enthusiasm that could light up the field.
Her adventurous spirit shone through in her love for trail riding with her brothers Steve and Dan, where they shared stories, laughter, and the unbreakable bond of family. Above all, Teresa's heart belonged to her family, with whom she cherished every moment, whether it was a grand celebration or a quiet evening at home.
Teresa's life was a testament to the values she held dear: selflessness, love, and generosity. She approached every situation with an open heart and a willingness to give of herself. Her legacy is one of unwavering support, boundless affection, and an enduring commitment to the wellbeing of her family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel 6301 W. St. Joe Highway, Lansing with Chaplain Lyle Heaton officiating. Visitation will begin Thursday at the funeral home at 10:00 AM.
