Teresa Louise (Allen) Keirsey, 78, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on July 1, 2024 in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted in Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Teresa was born on June 5, 1946 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Ted Allen and Sarah Louise (Hanover) Allen.
She found her lifelong companion in James "Cliff" Keirsey, and the two were united in marriage on a beautiful winter day, February 15, 1975. Together, they shared a life full of joy and mutual passions until Cliff preceded her in death.
Beyond her professional life, Teresa was a woman of diverse interests and talents. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her meticulously cared-for garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her flowers, each bloom a vibrant expression of her love for nature. Teresa's nurturing spirit extended to her cherished Pomeranian's, whose companionship brought her immense joy and comfort.
Teresa's passion for life was matched by her love for quarter horse racing. Alongside her husband, Cliff, she trained these magnificent creatures, combining her keen insight and patience to prepare them for the excitement of the racetrack. This shared endeavor with Cliff was one of the many threads that wove their lives together in a tapestry of mutual respect and affection.
Teresa is survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Ted and JoAnn Allen of Shawnee; nephew: Mark and wife, Vicki Allen of Wanette; niece: Marcia Allen and husband, Ray Wyssmen of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; step-sons: James Keirsey and wife, Dana, Austin Keirsey both of Bartlesville; step-granddaughter: Heather Ellzey of Fayetteville, Arkansas; step-great-grandchildren: Ethan Ellzey, Aisley Keirsey, and Jaden Keirsey.
