Teresa Ensley Palmer, 61, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Teresa was born on October 25, 1963, and was raised in Augusta, Georgia. Teresa earned her high school diploma at Aquinas High school and later attended Augusta Technical College for her degree. She worked for several years in banking, where she served as a teller, officer, and assistant manager. Later years, she worked seasonally for Rhodes Murphy and TaxSlayer where she gained lifelong friends that were dear to her. Teresa’s most cherished roles, however, was that of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Teresa devoted herself to her husband, raising her children, loving her “Gran”, and later poured that same love and energy into caring for her grandchildren, all of which were her greatest joys.
Teresa had a true gift for hospitality, as she was an amazing cook. Her kitchen was always a place of comfort and connection. She also loved camping and being outdoors - especially if it meant she’d be making memories with her family and friends. Teresa gave generously of her time, her talents, and her heart.
Teresa lived a life rooted in her faith, kindness, and strength. A devoted follower of Jesus, she spent her days serving others – whether through a warm meal or a listening ear. She was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was an active member in Bible Study Fellowship, where she served as a dedicated leader several years. She was also a Good News Club teacher at many different schools. Teresa showed love and care to anyone coming through the doors and was truly a light for everyone around her.
Teresa is preceded in passing by her son, Zackary Palmer (Amanda), her parents, Ronald L. Ensley and Betty Ray Ensley, her brothers, Ronald Ensley, Jr. and Kendall Ensley (Ann), her father-in-law, Norman Palmer, Jr. (Lois), and her brothers-in-law, Norman “Butch” Palmer III and Freddie Palmer.
Teresa is survived by her spouse, Steven Wayne Palmer, that she devotedly loved since she was 13, her children, Brooke King (Derrick) and Avery Newsome (Michael), her grandchildren, Zackary “Chandler” Palmer, Jackson Palmer, Ensley Newsome, Hill Newsome, and Carson Newsome, her sister, Linda Walker (William), her mother-in-law, Lois “Gran” Palmer, her nephews, Tre Ensley (Crissy), Josh Treadway (Nancy), Scott Walker, William Walker, Jr. (Amy), Kevin Ensley (Kasie), and her nieces, Angela McMillin (Kent), Leslie Haywood (Tripp), Melissa Mobley (Jared),Melinda Mosca, Heather Palmer, Haley Sherlock (Michael), and Carson Childers (Paul). Teresa is also survived by several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
