Terra Thomas Obituary
Terra Lin Thomas, age 36, passed peacefully December 11, 2025, at her home in Pittsford; following a courageous battle with cancer.
Terra was born in Middlebury on June 1, 1989. She was the daughter of Michael and Linda (Samuelsen) King. Terra grew up in Orwell where she received her early education. She graduated from Fair Haven Union High School, class of 2007. She earned her degree in Social Work from the University of Vermont, class of 2011.
Terra was forced to retire in September of this year due to illness. She had worked more than eight years and was supervisor of Patient Financial Service at Porter Hospital in Middlebury. She loved animals, especially cats.
She is survived by her husband Michael Walker Thomas; whom she married at Parsons Beach in Kennebunk, ME on July 4, 2014, her parents; Michael & Linda King and her brother; Dustin King and his wife Caitlin.
Respecting her wishes, a private gathering "In Celebration of Her Life" will take place, at a later date.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT 05763.

I worked the last few years with Terra within the UVM Health network and I will miss chatting with her. She was a wonderful young woman. My condolences to her friends and family

I just heard about the passing of Terra, she was a beautiful soul. I had the privilege of working with her at Hannaford's years ago for a brief time. Very sad to hear of her passing today.

I´m grateful for the time I worked with Terra. She had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and took time out of her day to help us all. Terra´s kind, caring, and generous nature is missed by everyone who worked with her. Many of us counted Terra as a friend which is a testament of how wonderful she truly was. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I have never met a more wonderful person . It was my pleasure to have enjoyed knowing and working with her. She will be greatly missed. Healing prayers and thoughts to Michael, and her family and friends. Until we meet again, beautiful soul, hugs.
