Terrance (Terry) Anthony Meehan, 73, passed away peacefully and unexpectantly in his home in Old Orchard Beach, Maine on September 6, 2025. Terry was born in Biddeford, Maine on November 13,1951 to Georgia "Alice" Staples and Francis "Chick" Anthony Meehan.
He attended Biddeford High School, graduating in 1970 and continued his education at Andover University, receiving a degree in Business. He loved learning and continued throughout his adult years to take classes at local universities and local adult education classes.
Terry spent many years working for Community Partners as a direct care staff and later program manager for their independent living program. For almost his entire life, Terry loved listening to music and sports broadcasts on FM WBZ Boston's radio station: Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, sometimes while watching it on TV with the volume muted! He was thrilled to be alive during 3 of the Bruins' Stanley Cup wins, and of course the Red Sox World Champion win in 2004.
Terry loved playing cribbage, Monopoly, and Yahtzee with family members and was a big DISCO music fan! Terry was our mother's favorite child and took care of her and their furry family members for many years before her passing. In addition, he will be missed by his nieces who loved their "Unc" so very much.
Terry is predeceased by his mother Alice, father Francis, brother Joseph, his best friend for decades, Bruce Nelson, and just very recently his cat, Little Girl. He is survived by three siblings Judith H. Doran of Biddeford, Michael P. Meehan of Lyman and his wife Diane, Kelley Meehan Byrnes of Old Orchard Beach, Kimberly Meehan-Brown and spouse Alan Brown of Biddeford. He is also survived by multiple nephews and nieces: John V. Doran Jr., Jeffrey Doran, Joseph Doran, Jessica Agreste, Kate Meehan, Hannah Byrnes, Brittany Brown, Tessa Byrnes, Alannah Brown Reilly, and multiple great nieces and nephews. Terry was well loved by his family and will be missed.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at Woodlawn Cemetery in Biddeford, ME at 11:00am.
