GUILDERLAND – Terrence D. Arndt, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, leaving a legacy of integrity, core values, and commitment to his family, and Country. Terrence was born April 9, 1943 in Cohoes, the son of the late John F. and Margaret M (McDonough) Arndt, Sr. He graduated from Lasalle Institute, and was a 1967 graduate of Siena College.He achieved his Executive MBA in International Business from St. Louis University andwas also a graduate of the Institute of Strategic Marketing in Durham, England, UK. Terry was supportive of all the halls of education he attended. Terry proudly served in the US Marine Corps as an Infantry Platoon Commander, Battalion Intelligence Officer and other roles in operations in the Republic of Vietnam, participating in 10 major combat operations there. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1971 after a final deployment to the Mediterranean in Crete and Corsica. He continued his service in the active reserves. His decorations include: Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V", Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Gold Frame, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, New York State Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Citations (2). Terry spent 21 years at American Express, holding leadership roles in financial services, marketing, and general management across the U.S., Canada, and Japan. He then served as President and COO of EDI USA, later joining its Board of Directors where he contributed to strategy, governance, capital planning, and investor relations. Following that, he became Senior Vice President of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer at Express Scripts. In "retirement," Terry founded Success Consulting, a firm specializing in new product development, branding, and innovation, with a strong focus on international opportunities Terry was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Carol (Filasky) Arndt; son, Peter Arndt; brothers, Jack Arndt Jr, and Charles Arndt; sisters, Margaret 'Peg' Walsh, Constance Owens and Karen Arndt. He is survived by his sisters; Patricia Long and Christine Richardson; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and many good friends. A private viewing for immediate family will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2025. Funeral services, burial, and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lasalle Institute or Siena College in Terry's memory.
