Terrence A. "Terry" Frisbie

  Terry Frisbie of Sioux City, Iowa died tragically in a fatal car accident on Friday, October 13, 2023.

  A memorial service for brothers, Terry and Tom Frisbie will be held at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel at 822 Jennings St. in Sioux City, Iowa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023. Visitation will be held with the family 1 hour prior to services.

  Terry was born in Sioux City, Iowa on November 9th, 1971, to Alan and Rebecca (Montagne) Frisbie. He was the middle child in the family, which made it easy to bond with all of his siblings. Terry attended West High School where he met many of his closest friends. In school, Terry was the quiet kid who preferred to fly under the radar. He enjoyed joking around and pulling pranks on his family and peers. Piecing together model cars was something that Terry enjoyed doing, even as an adult. Terry was also interested in the macabre and enjoyed collecting oddities such as taxidermy pieces and skulls. Unlike most people, he was at peace when listening to metal music. Anything odd or that added some shock value to life made Terry smile. Terry’s sister, Brenda, mentioned the time when Terry found a fake eyeball on the floor while working at Gateway. He brought the eyeball with him to eat at the Horizon Restaurant and then proceeded to order a steak. After the waitress had brought him his meal, Terry quickly put the eyeball on the steak and then said, “Excuse me, I don’t think I ordered the ribeye.”

  During his career, Terry worked at Gateway, Rocket Car Wash, and most recently Service Master, and also spent some time installing flooring. It was said that Terry was a fun and hard-working employee who showered his co-workers with laughter and pranks. We were reminded of the time he brought fake blood to work to make his manager think there was a major accident and then Terry insisted he only needed a band-aid.

  Although Terry had a twisted sense of humor, he was unforgettably compassionate and tender. Terry will be remembered for his ability and willingness to help anyone in need. He was the first to lend a hand whenever an opportunity was presented. Loyalty and dedication were just a couple of Terry’s most admirable traits.  Terry was a loving and consistent father to Rebecca and bonded with his son Brenden through music and humor, which made him very proud. One of Terry’s most recent hijinks consisted of swallowing a goldfish to impress his niece, Makayla.

  Terry will be greatly missed by his son, Brenden Frisbie (Madison) and Terry’s daughter, Rebecca Frisbie, all of Sioux City, Iowa; Terry’s father, Alan Frisbie and long-time partner Jeanie Craig of Sioux City, Iowa; Terry’s girlfriend, Kelly Costello, of Sioux City, Iowa; Sisters: Brenda Owen (Tim) of Salix, Iowa and Lorraine Frisbie of Sioux City, Iowa; Brother: Tim Frisbie (Amanda) of Sioux City, Iowa and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

  Those welcoming him into heaven are Terry’s mother, Rebecca A. Frisbie (Montagne), sister, Lisa Gruensteiner, brother-in-law, Chip Groves; and uncle, Allen Montagne.

  We are also saddened to share the news of Terry’s brother, Tom Frisbie, passing away within a week of Terry’s death.  Please join us in remembering them both while comforting each other during this tragic time.
