Joe Frisbie, 67, of Van Etten, New York, passed away peacefully Friday, October 3, 2025 surrounded by family and friends, after fighting a hard and courageous battle against cancer. Joe grew up in Halsey Valley and stayed close to his entire family, continuing the love of farming! While the field and farm life pulsed in his veins, he was always up for an adventure. A graduate of Spencer-Van Etten High School in 1976, Joe's spirit and gumption took him across the country and across the ocean to further his culinarily training, making friends and memories along the way. Joe was predeceased by his loving parents, Fred and Nancy Frisbie. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Anne Frisbie, his two daughters, Sarah Vergason, Nicole Budinger (Matt); grandson, Finn; five siblings, Vickie (Rick) VanDerpoel, Harry (Sue) Frisbie, Cub Frisbie, Kenny (Deb) Frisbie, Marty (Sue) Frisbie; an abundance of nieces and nephews, Rachel, Jesse, Amy, Tom, Hillary, Abby, Matt, Chad, Katie, Joe; and a close bond with cousin and best man, Ron (Jackie) Frisbie. Loved by so many and enjoyed by all, Joe's ability to inspire joy and joviality was felt by all that met him. A smile that lit up a room, a joke that lifted your spirits, and an astounding knowledge of all things sports related were just a few of his blessings to the world. Friends, neighbors and acquaintances are welcome to share condolences on Monday, October 13th, 2025, with calling hours from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and funeral services immediately following at 12:00pm at St. Luke's Chapel, 92 Main Street, Van Etten, NY. A celebration of life will follow later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the wonderful angels at CareFirst NY (3805 Meads Creek Rd, Painted Post NY 14870) or the Halsey Valley Volunteer Fire Department (506 Hamilton Valley Rd, Spencer, NY 14883).
