Terry O’Neil, 77, of Roselle, Illinois, originally from Oak Park, passed away suddenly after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family on December 11, 2025.
Beloved husband of 53 years to Susan (née Pollard). Devoted father of Colleen (Clay) Reagan, Brian (Amy), Sean (Stacie), and Kevin (Kelly). Proud grandfather of Declan Reagan; Gavin, Maggie, Andrew, and Molly; James, Dylan, Vivian, and Elizabeth; Liam, Quinn, and Emmett O’Neil. Son of the late James F. and the late Anne V. O’Neil. Dear brother of James (Betty), Kathleen Fahey, Sharon (Don) Miller, and Mary Ellen (Terry) Faust. Loving uncle to 33 nieces and nephews and great-uncle to many.
A lifelong and devoted Catholic, Terry was a longtime parishioner of St. Walter Parish in Roselle. A graduate of Fenwick High School ('66) and Loyola University ('71), Terry built a successful early career in the retail and wholesale furniture industry before finding his true professional home at Medinah Country Club in 2001.
For nearly 25 years, Terry was a cherished member of Medinah’s Golf Operations team. Members and staff alike knew him as the warm, steady voice on the tee. He was the friendly face who greeted every golfer with sincerity and a genuine love for the game and its people. During the off-season he helped create special moments at Candlelight Dinners, Thanksgiving celebrations, and Family and Holiday Brunches, bringing calm, kindness, and familiarity to everyone around him.
Beyond the club, Terry never met a stranger. He loved riding his motorcycle around town, casting a line while fishing, and serving as the family photographer at every gathering. He volunteered at St. Alexius Behavioral Health Hospital and found his greatest joy simply spending time with his children and grandchildren. His kindness, humor, tireless work ethic, and unwavering dedication touched countless lives.
Terry will be deeply missed by his large, loving family, his Medinah family, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
