Terrie Ward Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Pocomoke City on Dec. 30, 2025.
Terrie Deanne Ward passed away on December 25, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on May 31, 1958, Terrie was the daughter of the late Byron and Lilo Brooks.
Terrie spent her life nurturing her passion for teaching and impacting the lives of her students as a Physical Education Teacher at North Accomack Elementary, Pocomoke Middle School, and Snow Hill Middle School over her 37 year career. She poured her heart into the programs she helped direct, teaching the kids choreography. Terrie held a Master's Degree +30 and was known for her unwavering commitment to education, earning a nomination for Teacher of the Year during her esteemed career. Outside of her professional life, Terrie was known for her vibrant spirit and love for life. She enjoyed gardening, spending time at the beach, and working on her tan, all while making lasting memories with her family. Terrie also had a passion for canning.
She was the heart of her family, a constant source of warmth, comfort, and unwavering support. As a mother, she nurtured with patience and grace. As a wife, she loved deeply and faithfully. As a Mimi, she brought endless joy, gentle hugs, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren forever.
Her kindness knew no limits. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Whether through her soft words, her generous spirit, or her quiet strength, she touched countless lives and formed friendships that felt like family.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the lives she shaped. Her laughter, compassion, and beautiful spirit will forever remain with those who were blessed to know her.
Terrie is survived by her loving husband, Larry Ward; children, Taylor Tyler (Kyle) and Barry Ward; grandchildren, Weston and Audyn Tyler; and brother, Pete Brooks (Diana) and their daughter Ronin.
Terrie's family will hold a memorial service at Holloway Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Pocomoke City, MD, on January 17, 2026, at 2 PM. Guest are invited to visit with family beginning at 1 PM. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her career and beyond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's.
