Terry Boatright

Terry "Tugboat" Boatright passed away on August 26, 2021, in Nacogdoches, Texas, at the age of 47. He was born on May 16, 1974, in Kerrville, Texas, to Floyd and Marion Boatright. Terry was the youngest of 16 children: a mixture of "his", "hers", and "ours".
Terry grew up in Vanoss, Oklahoma where he attended and graduated from high school. He went on to move to Texas, where he graduated from Southwest Texas Junior College for truck driving. Terry was a truck driver for over 20 years! Most of those years he spent driving in the oilfield in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas. Terry enjoyed spending his free time reading his Kindle books, watching John Wayne movies, and grilling his "dad burgers" all summer long. When Terry introduced himself to people, he would say, "My name is Terry, but everyone calls me 'TugBoat'". He loved to drink coffee, but it had to be jet black and with no sugar.
Terry loved his children and was a proud father. He was beyond proud to say that his son was in the Army and his daughter-in-law was in the Air Force. While Terry was not a sports person, he was our boys biggest fan when he watched them play either football or basketball.  He hated crowds, but he took Rylee to a father/daughter dance after she lost her 1st Dad.  Terry met Carynne, the love of his life, in Weatherford, Texas, in 1997. They went on one date and were inseparable. After 6 short weeks, they were married in Proctor, Texas, on August 21, 1997, blending their children and becoming one family. Terry and Carynne were married for 24 wonderful years, and will be forever remembered saying, "Honey, you are my world. I love you and our kids, Thomas, James and Aysiah, Wyatt, and Rylee. Don't ever forget that".
Terry is survived by his wife, Carynne Boatright; children, Thomas Boatright, James Boatright and wife, Aysiah, Wyatt Sharp, and Rylee Sharp; and siblings, Tom Yoss and wife, Nelda, T. Marie Shackelford and husband, Wade, Tim Yoss and wife, Patty, Tammie Helm, Veda Goines and husband, Charley "Pickles", Barbara Elmore and husband, Conrad, Floyd "George" Boatright and wife, Teresa, Albert Boatright and wife, Nae, Thomas Sharp, Hank and Alice Boatright and Melissa Sharp.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Marion Boatright; and siblings, Jesse Boatright, Billy Boatright, Leon Boatright, Howard Boatright, Toni Berry, Reba Brock, and James Sharp and wife, Alinda.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
