Terry Mark Dorsey

Mr. Terry Mark Dorsey, age 74 of Jasper, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 12th, 2024. Terry was born on December 16th, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia to his beloved parents Hugh Nelson Dorsey and Anna Thrailkill. Terry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and courageously worked as a fireman for the Atlanta Fire Department. Terry is preceded in death by his brothers: William Hugh Dorsey and Richard Horace Dorsey; Grandchildren: Tanna Young, Cody Young, and Candace Welch.
Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Griggs Dorsey of Jasper, Georgia; Children, Chad Dorsey (Rose), April Davis (Tony), Stacey Dorsey Beasley (Elliott), Tracy McGathy, Jason Young, and Shane Dorsey; Sisters, Virginia Rudy, Janet McDermott, Marsha Land (Steve), and Maggie Carter (Olan). Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Ellijay with Bishop Kevin Moss, speaker Craig Chester, and speaker Dave Chapell officiating. Special music will be played by Karin Alexander.
The body will lie in-state at the church from 12:00pm noon until the service hour of 2:00pm at the church.
Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, July 22nd, 2024 at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Georgia Mountains Hospice.
