Terry Lee Durf, age 75, of Mechanicsburg, died at home and surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Terry was born on Saturday, April 2, 1949 in Carlisle to the late Fred Durf and Margaret (Thomas) Durf.
Terry’s survivors include his wife of 39 years, Doris Jean (Long) Durf; his daughter: Nikki Renee Ondek and husband, Matthew, of Carlisle; his two grandchildren: Dylan Ondek, Alysyn Ondek; his two sisters: Patricia Alleman and husband, Richard, of Newburg, Martha Mutterspaugh and husband, Tawney, of Shippensburg; and his beloved canine companion: Thor.
Terry graduated from Big Spring High School. He retired from New Penn Motor Express after many years of service working as a mechanic and after retirement, worked part-time for NAPA delivering auto parts. You may remember Terry from the Carlisle Moose, Enola Sportsman Club and Mechanicsburg Men’s Club. Terry enjoyed the outdoors, 4-wheeling, and swimming in his pool. He spent many evenings at BAPS Motor Speedway and other local dirt tracks watching his son-in-law Matthew, race his 2M Super Sportsman. He loved working on his corvettes and attending car shows. Terry also enjoyed traveling but most importantly he loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
All are welcome to join Terry’s family at his viewing on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of his service at 12:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating. Terry’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service. Entombment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
