It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terry Glenn Gray Sr., who left us on Friday, October 24th, 2025. Born on June 5th, 1959, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who made a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was 66 years old.
Terry was a proud resident of Jeffersonville, Indiana, where he built a life filled with love and laughter. He shared 48 wonderful years with the love of his life, Theresa, a union that was marked by joy and devotion. Terry cherished the memory of taking his beloved on one last cruise to celebrate their enduring anniversary.
After graduating from Ivy Tech College, Terry pursued a career in HVAC sales, a field where he enjoyed both his work and the people he met along the way. Terry also served with distinction as a proud member of the Marines, a commitment that he honored throughout his life with the motto, "Once a Marine, always a Marine."
Terry's life was rich with hobbies and interests. He was a movie enthusiast who enjoyed endless hours of cinema with his grandchildren, sharing his vast knowledge and love of films, especially when it came to his all-time favorite, "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken." Terry was known for passionately declaring "True Grit" as the greatest western of all time, a belief he would joyously defend in any friendly debate. His love for cooking, especially Cajun cuisine, was as big as his heart.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife Theresa; sons, Terry Gray, Jr. (Amy DeHart), Joe Gray (Maggie), and Christopher Gray (Melissa); his brothers, Johnny Gray (Becki) and Jason Gray (Lenora); his twin sister, Sherry Prewitt (John) with whom he shared a special bond; and his beloved grandchildren, Tabitha Gray, Alex Gray, Lucas Gray, and Connor Gray. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Gray, whose memories he cherished and honored throughout his life.
Terry's booming laughter and warm presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit and the love he shared with those around him will remain forever.
Arrangements are being handled by Garr Funeral Home. A memorial service will be planned at a later date, at that time friends and family are invited to come and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched so many with his kindness, humor, and dedication to those he loved.
