Terry Brent Guillory, a beloved husband and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Mamou, LA, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 85. Born on September 11, 1940, in Mamou, Terry lived a remarkable life that touched many hearts and left an indelible mark on the oil and gas industry. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Mamou at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Platin Cemetery.
Terry attended college as a Geophysicist, embarking on a distinguished career that showcased his intellect and dedication. He was known for his passionate work ethic and his ability to connect with colleagues and clients alike, making significant contributions to the field. His professional life reflected his commitment not only to the science of geophysics but also to the people he collaborated with during his career.
Those who knew Terry often described him as a simple, family-oriented man. He cherished his time with his family, valuing the relationships that defined his life. His warmth, kindness, and sense of humor brought joy to all who experienced the gift of his company. As a friend, and mentor, Terry's influence extended far beyond his professional achievements—he was a guiding light for many.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Diane Brothers Guillory; brother-in-law, Walter L. Brothers and wife, Chris; nephews, Aaron Brothers and wife, Jennifer, Peter Brothers and wife, Karen, Eric Guillory and wife, Valerie, and Mark Guillory; niece, Davlon Fruge and husband, Nick; two great nieces, two great nephews; five great-great nieces, and five great-great nephews.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Percy Guillory; brother, Bob Lane Guillory and sister-in-law, Betty Guillory; niece, Yvette Soileau, and great nephew, Chase Guillory.
A visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of service, providing family and friends the opportunity to celebrate his extraordinary life and share cherished memories.
As we remember Terry, we honor not just a skilled geophysicist but a loving family member and wonderful friend who embraced life with simplicity and sincerity. His legacy of love and commitment to family will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
