Terry Clinton Hull, born on July 1, 1948, in Forsyth County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, at the age of 77. Terry lived a robust and colorful life, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
A man of many talents and trades, Terry's career path was as diverse as his interests. He proudly served in the Marine Corps, embodying the spirit of dedication and resilience. Following his service, he transitioned to a role in sales with Durham Life Insurance, where his knack for connecting with people shone brightly, later he worked as a lineman and embraced the open road as a long-haul trucker.
In his personal time, Terry was an avid outdoorsman with a deep passion for fishing, hunting, and all things nature. As a member of Hull's Hunting Club, he shared many adventures with fellow sportsmen. Terry had the unique gift of being a "jack of all trades," whether it was fixing things, cheering on his favorite sports teams, or simply relishing a good meal. His infectious humor and childlike spirit could make anyone laugh, and he was known for enjoying a friendly gamble with friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Hull, as well as a host of beloved brothers and sisters. He is survived by his devoted life partner, Harriet Hull, and his cherished daughters, Melissa Bennett (Allen) and Terisa Goodman (Tom). He leaves behind four adored grandchildren: Wyatt Bennett, Devin Swinkey, Derek Swinkey (Katelyn), and Elizabeth "Beth" Swinkey (fiancé Brett Westbrooks), as well as great-grandchildren Zane Swinkey, Liam Swinkey, and Azrael Swinkey. Terry will also be dearly missed by his sisters, Edna Mae Cloer and Betty Maynarich (John), along with an extended host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
While there will not be an immediate service, a celebration of Terry's life may be held at a later date, allowing friends and family to gather in remembrance of the remarkable man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you plant a tree in Terry's honor, a living tribute to a life well-lived and a man who appreciated the simple beauty of nature.
