Terry Lackey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home and Advance Planning Center on Mar. 29, 2024.
Terry Wayne Lackey, 76, of San Tan Valley, AZ, unexpectedly departed to Heaven during the afternoon on March 24, 2024 in Queen Creek, AZ.
Terry Lackey was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Ethyl Lackey; sisters, Patsy, Denny, Sue, and LaDonna; and brother, Gaylon.
Terry is survived by his wife, Kathleen, seven days short of 50 years! He is also survived by two children, Kimberly and Trevor; his grandchildren: Selena, his Beloved Honey Bunch Granddaughter, Sierra his Princess, Aiden his Buddy, Kaia and Aulani; his great-grandson, Xavier, his XMan; his brother, David Jr.; his precious sister, Demeris; his dearest lifelong friends, Fred and Patti, Steve and Terri and Old Blue, Mark and Diane, Steve and Detta, Dick and Valerie, Ed and Judi, Bill and Karen, Allen and his brother Steve; as well as many other special people and our dear neighbors.
Terry was born in Madera, CA. He was raised in Chowchilla, CA until his high school years where he eagerly lived with his sister Denny, brother-in-law Jack, their children, Denise, Vicki and Susan Lynn in Denair, CA. It was during the turbulent year of 1966 that Terry chose to serve his fiercely loved country, the United States of America, enlisting in the Marine Corps for four years. "Sergeant Lackey" was a Vietnam Veteran who often contemplated those he served with and lost.
Terry excelled and loved his diligent career. He met and made many of his lifelong friends as a Sporting Goods Factory Representative. Because of Mark Haynes and bologna sandwiches, Terry entered the world of "Selling Toys to Big Boys" for more than 30 years!
Terry thoroughly enjoyed life. His knowledgeable interests included music, singing, drumming, reading, golfing, hunting, fishing, skiing, family camping, car races, football, baseball, Fox News, Flight Simulator Virtual Reality and his Faith in God. Terry was a story and joke teller, and brought tremendous laughter to the lives of his many friends and family. Like he used to say, "you are going to miss me when I'm gone!" "True Story"!
Graveside services with Full Honors will be held at a later date (to be determined) at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Kern County, CA.
Semper Fi and Farewell, Terry, until we meet again, Lovingly, Kathy.
