Terry Lee Larson passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the age of 59.
Terry was born August 19, 1963, in Grand Junction, CO, to Harvey and Juanita Simpson Gorby. On March 26, 1983, she married the love of her life, Michael Larson, and sealed their marriage in the Bountiful, Utah Temple in 2012. After living in Farmington for 25 years and raising their three children, they built their dream home in Mountain Green, where they have resided for the last eight years.
Terry graduated from Grand Junction High School and received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Weber State University and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Western Governors University. Terry was a nurse for 25 years and spent most of that time at St. Mark’s Hospital in Women’s Special Care Labor and Delivery. She was very involved as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in a number of callings, including Primary Teacher and Relief Society Presidency. She was a great minister to the women in her neighborhood.
Terry will always be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother, and an amazing grandmother. In her spare time, Terry loved to keep her mind busy with arts and mind games; she enjoyed reading, ceramics, sewing, puzzles, playing games with the family, and a good helping of crime dramas. The most important things in her life were her friends and family. Her family was her whole world, everything from working for their betterment to simple conversations. Time with and on behalf of her family was most important. She worked hard to make it easier for them to succeed and strived to help each of her children succeed in the different aspects of their life. She cherished watching the accomplishments of each of her children, from master’s degrees, to careers, to having families of their own. Though her love for her children was great, the brightest light in her life was the birth of her grandchildren, Hayden and Brooklyn. They brought her immense happiness, and being their grandmother was the most fulfilling role in her life.
Terry is survived by her husband, Michael Larson; children, Justin (Nicole) Larson, Jessica Larson, and Brittiany (Roger) Orawiec; mother, Nita Gorby; brother, Jay Gorby; and grandchildren, Hayden and Brooklyn Orawiec. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Gorby.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Mountain Green Ward, located at 5378 West Old Hwy Rd., Mountain Green, UT 84050.
Friends and family may visit with the family from 9:30 am-10:30 am at the church, where a formal viewing will be held prior to services.
You may also send any floral arrangements to Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden or to the church on the day of the service between 8:00 am and 9:00 am.
