Mitch passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023, at Charleston Area Medical Center after an injury sustained from a fall at home.Terry "Mitch" Reed was born in Oak Hill on January 23, 1962, to Phyllis and Milburn Reed.
For many years Mitch could always be found working around the homestead. Mitch worked at both of his parents' businesses. He worked for his father's OMR Trucking company, as well as "helping" at his mother's greenhouses. Mitch served as his parents' faithful caregiver for many years leading up to their deaths in 2018.He was undoubtedly a great son, brother, uncle, and forever friend to everyone he met.
An avid Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan and collector throughout their racing careers. Mitch spent countless hours on his four-wheelers and side-by-sides riding all over the community. He could always be heard riding the country roads all hours of the night. He enjoyed his rides with his faithful dog, Ralph. Mitch and Ralph met unexpectedly and ever since have been inseparable.
Mitch will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval Milburn Reed and Phyllis Ann Reed.
He is survived by siblings: Richard Reed, Joe Reed, and Julie Lee. Nieces and nephews: Chris Reed, Kyler Reed, Courtney Butler, Whitley Butler. Inseparable friends and confidants: Connie Kessler "The Cook" and Jessi Milam. Special life-long friend: Drema Reed. Long-time buddies: Doug Woods, Ralph Campbell, and many more.
The family is thankful and appreciative to the local community for always looking out for Mitch and his nighttime adventures. Mitch will be missed dearly by many.
A graveside service will be held for Mitch on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 12 p.m. at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Ansted, WV.
Friends may gather with the family at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
