Terry Ray Sanders

Terry Ray Sanders, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 59.

Terry was born on December 8, 1966, to Gary Gordon Sanders and Claudia Kay (Plake) Sanders in Rolla, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Garmal and Florence Sanders, and Benjamin and Ethel Plake.

Terry lived a life rooted in family, music, and the outdoors. He had a deep love for playing guitar, often finding peace and joy through music. When he wasn't playing, you could usually find him outside doing what he loved most-hunting or fishing. Whether he was chasing deer, bear, or turkey, or simply enjoying time in the woods or on the water, the outdoors was where he felt most at home.

Terry also had a special love for his animals and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Luna and Duke, and his cats, who were always close by and part of his everyday life.

Above everything else, Terry's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a proud father and an even prouder grandfather. His grandchildren were truly the light of his life, and he treasured every moment he spent with them. Terry's love for his family was steady and strong, and the memories he created with them will live on for generations.

He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Terry is survived by his parents, Gary and Kay Sanders of Rolla, Missouri; his children, Andrew Black and wife Kelly of St. James, Missouri, Stephen Sanders and wife Michelle of Rolla, Missouri, Christopher Sanders and wife Erin of Troy, Missouri, and Aly Harmount and husband Jullyan of Rolla, Missouri; his sister, Wendy Bullock and husband Travis of Villa Ridge, Missouri; seven beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Zakk, Myla, Carter, Sonny, Riley, and Amaya; the mother of his children, Julie Sanders of Rolla, Missouri; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service for Terry R. Sanders will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri. Interment will follow at Pea Ridge Cemetery in Doolittle, Missouri. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in honor of Terry are suggested to the Rolla Animal Shelter.

Terry's memory will live on in the music he played, the woods he loved, and the family he cherished so deeply.
