Terry Franklin Spivey, 71 of Warren, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024
Terry passed away peacefully on October 30th at MD Anderson, from a short battle with Leukemia, his wife by his side.
Terry was born in Wayne County, NC. He moved to Savannah, GA in his early teens. He played football and was on the wrestling team.
In August of 1971, he joined the U.S. Navy. During his years in the Navy, he married and had a family, was deployed on numerous aircraft carriers. He Retired in August of 1993 after 22 years as an Aviation Ordnance Chief E7 fulfilling his lifelong dream. After retiring he and his family moved to Savannah, GA. He joined Ecolab Pest Services and retired in 2012. Terry and his wife moved to Warren, Texas, where he lived until his death.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents Walter David and Rena Belle Spivey, brother Elmer Spivey and sister JoAnn Fowler, 2 grandsons William (Willy) Spivey 25 and Hunter Fowler 2.
He is survived by wife Cindy of 51 years, Son Chance (Kayoko) Spivey, daughter Jennifer Yager. Grandchildren Mika and Mizuki Spivey, Gracie, Sebastian, Joseph, Cameron Yager, Terrence and Alexander Whitehead, Cody, Kyle and Justen Fowler. Sisters Vicki (David) Thornton, of Savannah, GA Sherri (William) Zarkadas, of Rincon, GA Deena (Steve) Colson, of Inman, SC. Brothers Jimmy (Terry) Spivey, Roger Spivey, of Savannah, GA, Michael (Cathy)Spivey of Eutawville SC, Keith Spivey of Savannah, GA.
Sister in laws, Mary Kalvans, of GA and Elaine (Frank)Macdonald of N.H.Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
The memorial service will be held November 30th at 12:30 pm, at his sister's house 302 Wedgefield Crossing, Savannah, GA. Casual attire, stories and pictures welcomed.
