Terry Lynn "Banjo" Wisdom

Terry Lynn Wisdom, also lovingly known as "Banjo" or "Fun Time Terry", entered Heaven on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the age of 73 years, 7 months, and 17 days. He was born March 13, 1952, in Ironton, MO, a son of the late Delbert Laverne and Barbara Jean (Skaggs) Wisdom.
On August 30, 1975, Terry was united in marriage to Cherie (Lambert) Wisdom who survives. To this union his four beautiful daughters were born, Leif Amsden and husband Ben of Farmington, MO, Haley Layton and husband Sam of Ironton, MO, Torie Wisdom of Bismarck, MO, and Cassidy Cole and husband Mike of Ironton, MO, all of who survive. Also surviving are nine grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart, Jordan and wife Morgan, Jace, Trey, Drew, Gracie, Sammi, Vayda, Vanna, and Christian; one sister, Debra Jean Ellis of Park Hills, MO, and many, many more loving family members and friends.
Terry is preceded in rest by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Gary Ellis.
As a child, Terry attended the Iron Mountain Elementary School until the sixth grade. He then went to Bismarck School until the tenth grade, and graduated from Central High School.
For 30 years, Terry worked for Saint-Gobain, a company which made bottles for Anheuser-Busch. He also was a member of the GMP Local 30, worked in several different mines around the area including Pilot Knob and Viburnum, he worked in the factory located in Pevely, and also worked briefly driving an oil truck in Oklahoma. He was a life-long member of the Iron Mountain Assembly of God, a member of the "Tuesday Nights at Woody's" club, a member of the NWTF, and an extremely proud Girl-Dad and Best Papa ever! Terry loved hunting and fishing, loved the Black River in Lesterville, and was his daughter's and grandchildren's biggest fan in all the sports they played and play.
Terry "Banjo" Wisdom was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am, from the Cole Family Funeral Home.
A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, beginning at 4:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm, from the Cole Family Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the services in the Doe Run Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Pink Penguin Project in honor of his dear friend and survivor, Rebecca "Becky" Buchanan.
