Texie Ratledge, 82, of Tidewater, Kimball, WV, went to be with the Lord December 12, 2024 at Princeton Community Hospital after a long illness. Born July 31, 1942 in Northfork, WV, she was the daughter of William and Georgia Baldwin. Texie and her late husband, James Ratledge, Sr. were the owners and operators of the Coffee Shop in Northfork, WV for over 42 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, James Ratledge, Sr. and also three sons, James Ratledge Jr., Joel Ratledge and Jody Ratledge, all of Kimball, WV.
Texie leaves behind a daughter, Joe Ann Wishnevsky and husband, Joe of Bluefield, WV; one son, Jay Ratledge of Kimball, WV; one sister, Betty Mikels of Northfork, WV; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In honoring Mrs. Ratledge’s wishes, she will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may send donations to help with the costs of cremation to Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, 3431 Coal Heritage Rd., Bluefield, WV 24701. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Ratledge family.
